How to Use Tabletop Maps

RealmWeave's Cartographer transforms your ideas into maps that are perfect for your tabletop roleplaying game. But what makes a good map and how should you use our AI Map Generator to create one that looks exactly the way you want?

What is a Map?

If you’re new to tabletop RPGs, it can be difficult to picture how these kinds of games are played and how a map would even be utilized. The battle maps we print are intended to be playing surfaces in fantasy and sci-fi roleplaying games. Players move figurines across the map during a combat situation. In the image below, you can see a RealmWeave map.

What Makes a Good Map?

Most figurines made for tabletop gaming are intended to fit in one inch by one inch squares, each of which corresponds to about five feet in the game. We offer printing in two sizes: 24 inches by 24 inches and 36 inches by 36 inches. Your goal should be to describe a small area, representing about 120 feet by 120 feet for 24" maps, or 180 feet if you’re planning to print a 36"x36" image.

Since you’ll be placing figurines directly on the map, it’s best if the image displays the scene from directly above, as opposed to off to the side or at a slight angle. But don’t worry, our AI Map Generator, Cartographer, will handle that part. Simply describe the location of your battle, and let Cartographer work its magic!
